General Info:  The semi-arid climate that prevails in the Riverina softens towards the end of autumn with cool nights, and mornings made damp by fog and dew. These are perfect conditions for the development of botrytis fungus on the grapes, and the production of sweet white botrytis wines. The climate is one of the strengths of the Riverina region, helping to make it an ideal wine grape region in Australia, and the main factor in making it one of the best producers of botrytis wines in the world.

WONDERFUL AMALGAM: Lillypilly Estate 2008 Noble Blend  " Rich and complex is an apt description of both this dish and the accompanying wine. Rob Fiumara is one of the Riverina's quiet achievers; his Noble Blend is a wonderful amalgam of classic white varieties. It's rich yet not overly  sweet, just like a good trifle. The combination of dark chocolate and rich sherry adds complexity that easily dealt with by the Noble Blend. Peter Bourne, Australian Gourmet Traveller Wine, Dec 2009-Jan 2010SEE CLIPPING

LOVELY ZESTINESS: Lillypilly Estate 2006 Noble Blend ... a very delightful — if slightly different — dessert wine with lovely zestiness and freshness on the palate, and certainly worth $24.50 for a 375ml bottle to round off a good dinner with a fresh lime brulée. David Ellis, Melbourne Observer, 1 August 2007 SEE CLIPPING

STUNNINGLY AROMATIC: Lillypilly Estate 2006 Noble Blend ... It is one stunningly aromatic dessert wine. Tropical fruits abound — glorious fresh and vital passionfruit, lychees, pineapple and a feast of others. Just beautifully put together. A lighter style with lively acidity well supporting the fruit characters. No cloyingness, sweet yes but balanced and seamless in delivery. And ever so moreish. Try this with a fruit and custard tart. Drink Now to 2012. 95/100 — Superb. Paul Ippolito, The Five-Minute Wine Rush (www.paulippolito.com.au) August 2007 SEE CLIPPING

DECADENT DELIGHT: Lillypilly Estate 2006 Noble Blend ... One of the great joys of drinking wine is to finish up the evening with a bottle of one of Lillypilly’s stickies in front of an open fire. This is rich, almost decadent, and coats the mouth with intense flavours of orange peel, apricot, fig and caramel – and that’s just for starters. Try it with crème brulee or blue cheese.
