Lillypilly 2007 Moscato
[wine list] |
 |
Region : Leeton Australia
Alcohol : 10.0%, 750ml
Variety : 78% Muscat of
Alexandria, 22% Semillon
Available in :
Australia,
Alberta Canada
Notes : Yellow colour with green tinge;
delicate floral and grapey; light, rounded and soft. The
wine captures all the hallmark muscat aromatics ...
soft, easy drinking and with sufficient acidity to
balance the sweetness. A great match for lighter
desserts, especially platters of fresh fruit and soft
cheeses. Also an attractive chilled aperitif.
Muscat of Alexandria is one of the oldest of grape
varieties. The variety is presumed to have originated in
northern Africa and may well have been harvested in the
vineyards of ancient Egypt. The flavours of muscat of
Alexandria are very close to most people's
interpretation of the term "grapey" and the variety is
ideally suited to producing medium-sweet, but highly
refreshing, wines such as this.
We also encourage the development of botrytis in part of
out muscat of Alexandria vineyard and use the variety to
produce some of our botrytised sweet whites.

REFRESHINGLY CRISP: Lillypilly Estate 2006 Moscato ...
The nose is very
aromatic with musk and herb notes. The palate is fresh as a
daisy with balanced acidity together with peachy, apricot
and pineapple fruit flavours. The wine is easy drinking if
you have a sweet tooth, although it's not overly sweet. It
is refreshingly crisp with acidity to match. Jim McMahon,

A VERY GLUGGABLE DROP:
Lillypilly Estate 2006 Moscato ...
Sweet, fragrant with lashings
of passionfruit, lychees, musk, rose petals and frangipani.
Delicate and lightweight yet also alluring and inviting.
Smooth and easy drinking with good acidity that balances the
ripe fresh fruit characters. Lingers long on the finish. A
very gluggable drop. Try this with stuffed king prawns.
