Lillypilly Estate was established at Leeton, in southern New South Wales, in 1972 by the Fiumara family. The first year of production for the winery was 1982. Lillypilly came to prominence in 1983 when the inaugural vintage of Tramillon®, a unique blend of Semillon and Traminer, won the State Bank Award for Best NSW White Wine at the Royal Sydney Wine Show.

International Sweet Wine Challenge and more

Lillypilly Estate has had a bountiful few weeks on the wine-show circuit, led by an impressive performance at the 2012 International Sweet Wine Challenge, which was held in Griffith last September in conjunction with the 2012 Riverina Wine Show.

The 2008 Noble Blend won a Gold medal and the Trophy for Best Mature Sweet White Other Varieties and Blends.

The 2006 Noble Harvest won the Trophy for Best Sweet White from the Museum Class. This wine is currently served in business class on Qantas international flights.

Lillypilly has won a total of 12 trophies over the 6 year history of the International Sweet Wine Challenge, including the International Sweet Wine of the Year in 2007, 2008 and 2011, making Lillypilly the only winery to have won the top trophy more than once, in fact winning it three times.

2012 NSW Small Winemakers Show Forbes - Gold medal and Trophy for Best Sweet Wine to Lillypilly Estate 2008 Noble Blend.

2012 Perth Royal Wine Show - Gold medal (Class 28) to Lillypilly Estate 2011 Noble Blend.

2012 Winewise Small Vignerons Awards Canberra - Gold medal to Lillypilly Estate 2011 Noble Blend.

The 2008 Noble Blend has now taken its overall show tally to six trophies and 10 gold medals.

AWC VIENNA 2012 is the largest and most successful wine competition in the world, officially recognised by the European Union. 11,514 wines from 1,760 producers out of 37 nations - that is an absolute world record! Two wines in top 100 at the 2011 Sydney international wine competition

Scoring two wines in the Top 100 at the 2011 Sydney International Wine Competition is obviously a magnificent result for a small producer, but for Lillypilly Estate’s winemaker, Robert Fiumara, there’s an even more rewarding undercurrent to the achievement.

One of his Top 100 winners is the Lillypilly Estate 2002 Family Reserve Noble Blend, a fabled wine that has returned the Leeton-based producer an outstanding bag of 24 trophies and 26 gold medals at Australian and International wine competitions, making it one of the country’s most successful show wines.

THREE gold AND tWO Trophies for Lillypilly at 2010 INTERNATIONAL Sweet Wine Challenge, Griffith, australia

Lillypilly Estate won two of the five trophies and three of the nine gold medals awarded at the 2010 International Sweet Wine Challenge, which was held in conjunction with the 2010 Riverina Wine Show. It was the only winery to win more than one gold medal at the Challenge. Full story

AWC VIENNA
For the second year running, Lillypilly Estate’s Fiumara 7 Domenic Blend has received a Gold Medal in the Fortified Wine class at the AWC International Wine Challenge in Vienna. AWC Vienna is the largest officially recognised wine competition in the world and this year over 9000 wines were tasted and evaluated. The wines came from 1514 producers out of 33 nations over five continents. The awards were presented on the 2nd November 2009 at a Wine Gala night held in the Vienna City Hall.

As one of the 100 best wineries of AWC Vienna 2009, Lillypilly Estate was invited to present Fiumara 7 Domenic Blend to over 2000 invited guests. AWC Vienna 2009 was an extremely successful show for us.

Lillypilly entered 9 wines and won a total of 9 awards with 2 Gold and 7 Silver medals. The second gold medal was awarded to our 2008 Noble Blend.
